Since April 1, 2012, the euro has been the official currency of Andorra, replacing the French franc and Spanish peseta used before. However, Andorra began minting its own euro coins only in 2014.
Coins of Andorra are minted in the mints of Spain and France in turn. Coins in denominations of 1, 2 and 5 Euro cents depict Pyrenean sulfur and a beard soaring in the sky. Coins in denominations of 10, 20 and 50 euro cents depict the Romanesque church of Santa Coloma, while a coin of 1 euro depicts the facade of the Andorran parliament building, and a coin of 2 euro depicts the coat of arms of the principality.
At the beginning of 2020, Andorra issued 11 commemorative coins with a face value of 2 euro.
