Belgium's commemorative coin "200 years since the birth of Louis Braille" with a face value of 2 euro was issued in 2009 with a circulation of 5 million coins.
The obverse of the commemorative coin depicts a portrait of Louis Braille, an outstanding French typhlopedagogue, who developed, still used today, a relief-dot font for blind people. To the left and right of the portrait are the initials of Louis Braille, painted in Braille. At the bottom of the coin are the dates 1809 and 2009, between which there is a designation of the country that issued the coin - "BE."
