Coin "100th anniversary of the first Estonian-speaking university" 2 euro Estonia

   The commemorative coin of Estonia with a face value of 2 euro in 2019 "the 100th anniversary of the first Estonian-speaking university" is timed to coincide with the event when, 100 years ago, in 1919, courses began to be taught in Estonian at the University of Tartu.

   The obverse of the commemorative coin depicts the facade of the University of Tartu, above which is the inscription "RAHVUSULIKOOL" ("National University"). In the lower part of the coin is the name of the university "UNIVERSITAS TARTUENSIS" and the year of its foundation. On the left is the name of the state "EESTI" and on the right is the year of the coin 2019. 12 EU stars are placed around the circle.
