1 Euro, France

   Coins of France with a face value of 1 euro have been issued since 1999 at the Paris Mint. They were put into cash circulation in 2002. Designed by Joaquim Jiminez.

   The obverse of the 1 Euro coin depicts a stylized tree symbolizing life and continuity of development, around which is the motto of France "LIBERTÉ, ÉGALITÉ, FRATERNITÉ" (Freedom, Equality, Brotherhood). Also in the center of the coin is the designation of the country "RF" and on the outer ring there are 12 stars of the European Union and the year of issue of the coin is indicated.
