   Coins of France 2 euro entered into cash circulation in 2002. Minted since 1999 at the Paris Mint. Designed by Joaquim Jiminez.

   On the national side of the Euro 2 coin, a stylized tree is depicted, symbolizing life and continuity of development. In the central part of the coin around the circle is the motto of France "LIBERTÉ, ÉGALITÉ, FRATERNITÉ" (Freedom, Equality, Brotherhood) and the country designation "RF." On the outer ring are 12 stars of the European Union and the year of the coin.
